Workflow improvement - Pull systems

One of the key philosophies of Lean Manufacturing, good workflow optimises inventory holdings and increases customer turnaround time.

Improving workflow should be your starting point in any "Lean" journey. Line balancing can be used to smooth out work imbalances between work centres.

Our team uses the "Theory of Constraints" concepts to identify and de-bottleneck your processes, "Pull Systems" are introduced to link your workcentres.

We provide implementation services that can be funded under the Enterprise Connect tailored advisory services grant and Competitive Manufacturing programs to improve your workflow.

Our training programs include the following subjects that may be subsidised:

Six Sigma

A system developed by Motorola to reduce the number of defects per million transactions/actions to less than 4 per million. This system is suitable for medium-high volume processes and can be used in most industries.

Made popular by General Electric in the 1990’s this process is now used extensively by many companies in the finance and office processing sectors.

Many companies are now applying Lean principles to reduce the non-value adding activities, before using Six Sigma to maintain quality standards to those value adding activities left.

The Improve Group provides training in Six Sigma principles as part of the Competitive Manufacturing Program
