Quality Improvement Programs

The cost of poor quality is much higher than most people realize. It is not just the cost of the rejected material, or information, but also the costs of the rework and the lost opportunity of process capacity. Often companies will have to sell another ten items to make up for the lost costs associated with one piece of rework.

Our Quality Improvement program provides a complete framework for improving all processes – manufacturing, processing, information and more. We use the concepts of Six Sigma and process capability improvement to focus workplace teams on real results that impact the bottom line and build quality into the process.

Our “Right First Time” philosophy plays an important part in creating a workplace culture that no longer requires “Inspection”, as quality is built into the process.

Many of our programs can be used to support a "Lean" or Competitive Manufacturing Program and may be eligible for funding.

Our training programs include the following subjects that may be subsidised:

Cert III in Competitive Manufacturing

  • MCMT250A     Monitor process capability

  • MCMT251A     Apply quality standards

  • MCMT280A     Undertake root cause analysis

Cert IV in Competitive Manufacturing

Diploma in Competitive Manufacturing

  • MCMT650A      Determine and improve process capability

Using Lean for Faster Six Sigma Results

SIX SIGMA

A system developed by Motorola to reduce the number of defects per million transactions/actions to less than 4 per million. This system is suitable for medium-high volume processes and can be used in most industries.

Made popular by General Electric in the 1990’s this process is now used extensively by many companies in the finance and office processing sectors.

Many companies are now applying Lean principles to reduce the non-value adding activities, before using Six Sigma to maintain quality standards to those value adding activities left.

The Improve Group provides training in Six Sigma principles as part of the Competitive Manufacturing Program
